Two Sizes
by Naixin Shi, Peggy Yu, 2024
Patchair is an art furniture create in 2024. This piece is made primarily from discarded fishing nets, combining hand weaving with 3D printing to explore the unique qualities and beauty of the material itself. The chair’s soft curves and distinctive structure are inspired by coastal culture and traditional craftsmanship, while the hollow sections are filled with woven fishing nets, adding warmth and character to this work.
The work combines hybrid ways of manufacturing, including advanced robot arm 3d printing and hand weaving. To create a dialogue through contrast and testing.
PATCH is an art furniture studio based in London. Centrals around sustainability, coastal culture and fabrication method. It bridges “fast” and “slow” technique. Blend memory into projects.
